About Us
Specialising in general practice commercial property advice that also incorporates a residential survey and valuation service. We work closely with each of our clients to provide a tailored approach that exceeds their expectations.
In 2019 we have been shortlisted for the CoStar midlands agency award for the most active single branch agent by the number of acquisitions & disposals, which is why 80% of our instructions are from clients that we have previously provided property consultancy services. Our knowledge, market intelligence and proactive attitude enable us to solve our client’s problems and build lifetime relationships. ?
Meet the Team

I founded Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in 2010 because I knew there was a better way. We change perceptions and lead the way for higher standards across the surveying profession.
We’re ambitious and future-focussed, tenacious and proactive. And our mission is to expertly advise clients, adding the highest possible value to their properties and investments. The whole team here at MCS is committed to the high standards of work we do. And we don’t forget the laughs. The newly-refurbished office sparks a great atmosphere and helps the team to work together.
Outside of work, I enjoy regular ski trips in the winter months and help to manage a grassroots rugby team.

I’ve been a part of Mounsey Chartered Surveyors since 2011 when I joined on a work experience basis. This quickly progressed to Graduate Surveyor and I became a Director in 2017.
Working within a general practice business, no two days are the same. Whilst a lot of my time is spent undertaking commercial valuations, I am actively involved in Commercial Agency matters as well as advising clients on Landlord and Tenant instructions.
Outside of work, I’m the owner of a Miniature Dachshund called Arlo (the boss of the house!) who I enjoy walking with my family. I’m also a long-suffering Stoke City season ticket holder and I help to run a grassroots football team.

I’ve been in the property industry for over 30 years and joined the business in 2016 as Associate Director and Residential Surveyor.
I undertake RICS Homebuyer Reports and valuations of residential properties in Staffordshire and South Cheshire on behalf of private individuals and lenders. Working in this sector, no two days are the same.
Football has always been a hobby of mine – I support Stoke City and watch my son play for Leek Town. I haven’t officially retired from playing and still play for a veteran’s team!

As a Director here at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors, my principal role is to oversee the smooth running of the Commercial Agency department which involves the sale or letting of all property types. Our client base, which ranges from investment funds, to private investors, to owner occupiers, continues to grow which ensures a varied and interesting workload.
At the weekends, I visit one of the many golf courses in the Staffordshire area or visit the county’s favourite attractions with my family.

I joined the team at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in 2020 as Associate Director, after a decade of experience in the commercial property sector.
My role covers every inch of Property Management such as reactive and planned building maintenance, tenant relations and overseeing dilapidations. I’ve been a part of great success within the business, with one notable achievement being instructed as managing agent of a 32-unit industrial estate covering areas of 500 – 30,000 sq. ft.
Outside of work, I coach rugby for Stoke and love to walk the family’s French Bulldog and Dachshund!

I’ve worked with Mounsey Chartered Surveyors since the doors first opened in 2010. I began managing the accounts alongside my physiotherapy job and then started to work at MCS full time around 7 years ago.
It was a sharp learning curve, but with valuable training and support from the team, I now manage all of the company accounts and get involved with HR.
Having lived outside of the city all my life, I love the countryside, taking our 2 dogs for walks and gardening. As a family, we love hitting the slopes and always have a holiday booked to look forward to.

After gaining 15 years’ experience within the Commercial Property sector, I joined the Commercial Agency team at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in April 2023.
Specialising in the disposal and acquisition of a range of commercial property and land in Staffordshire and Cheshire, I apply my expertise to provide lease advice and negotiations between landlords and tenants.
I’ve found the MCS office a fantastic environment to work in and received a warm welcome into the team since day one.

After successfully securing a placement year as a graduate in 2017, I’m now a Chartered Surveyor at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors and principally work in the Commercial Agency and Landlord and Tenant departments.
I’m a genuine gym-goer (unlike Caine!), an armchair Manchester United supporter and an enthusiastic player of Fantasy Football. On quieter weekends I watch The Office US back-to-back – which can lead to excessive quoting and slight irritation in the office!

I successfully secured work experience at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors for a few days a week when I was studying at Stoke-on-Trent College. Five years later, I am working within our Commercial Agency and Landlord and Tenant departments, providing advice to clients on disposals as well as undertaking lease renewals and rent reviews.
Having recently graduated from the University of Salford, I am now working hard towards becoming chartered.
I like to think of myself as an avid gym-goer (every January at least!) and my colleagues in the office will have you believe that I spend too much money buying dodgy t-shirts!

I’ve been a part of Mounsey Chartered Surveyors since the doors opened in 2010, having worked alongside Richard Mounsey at two other practices.
Starting off in Commercial Agency, I’ve dipped my toe into every aspect of the business and now help to manage the office alongside work within our Residential Survey and Valuation department.
The team really is the heart of MCS, it feels like working with your best friends everyday. It’s been a pleasure to watch us grow to a team of 14 over the past decade, and I’m looking forward to many more years of success.

I joined the Property Management department at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in 2019. I am actively involved in the financial administration of our client’s portfolios, including the collection of rents and service charges, as well as ensuring key dates relating to the asset management of properties are communicated to our surveyors.
I’m so grateful to be a part of the continuous success of the business, including the ongoing growth of our team and the impressive office refurbishment.

Since joining Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in 2021, I’ve experienced both the Commercial Agency and Property Management departments within the business.
I’ve always had an interest in property and now I’m learning the whole process of what a career in this sector involves. In my current role, I deal with enquiries for commercial properties, oversee our property marketing software and provide general support with accounts.
As a young professional, I can say that Mounsey Chartered Surveyors is a great place to develop a career.

Sava Student – Level 6 Residential Surveying
Since joining Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in 2022, I’ve worked closely with Carl (Associate Director and Residential Surveyor), undertaking property inspections and helping to prepare RICS Homebuyer Reports and valuations.
I’m currently a Sava student working towards a Level 6 Diploma in Residential Surveying, which I will complete later this year. I’m really looking forward to learning and developing in my current role, gradually improving my surveying knowledge and skills.
The team have made me feel welcome since day one and it’s a great environment to work in.

I joined the team at Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in 2022. After quickly settling into the business, I am currently rotating between departments whilst I work towards achieving chartered status.
My current role within the Commercial Property Management department involves being the point of contact for tenants, organising contractors for planned and reactive maintenance as well as administering service charge budgets.
My adrenaline-fueled weekends include motocross racing, mountain biking and watching Manchester United.

I joined Mounsey Chartered Surveyors in its infancy in 2015 to look after the financial administration side of our Commercial Property Management department.
The department has enjoyed year-on-year growth since then, with our client base growing from 2 to 25 and number of tenancies under management from 4 to 200! These numbers are only set to grow in the foreseeable future.
In the winter months, I’ve always got a skiing trip planned to Austria or the French Alps for some much-needed adventure.
